Today just think about the fact that you serve a God who is BIG! He's strong & mighty, and there isn't anything He can't accomplish! He created this complex universe! We never have anything to fear. We never have any reason to fret! Because, My God is So BIG!

My God is So BIG!
Lately my 3 year old has been determined to teach the song, My God is So Big to my 1 year old. It's so cute to hear her sing it and her sister yell, "BIG!" at all the right spots in the song. But, I must admit that I am starting to realize what an awesome, doctrinal truth that song holds.
Today just think about the fact that you serve a God who is BIG! He's strong & mighty, and there isn't anything He can't accomplish! He created this complex universe! We never have anything to fear. We never have any reason to fret! Because, My God is So BIG!

A Christmas in His Presence
Your present is still untouched,
On your plate there is no food.
The Season that you cherished
Is cheering every mood.
And though, I wrap and carol,
And am truly filled with cheer.
All parts of me are wishing,
That you were still so near.
I used to be too busy to pause,
And indulge you with a hug.
Now, all those embraces,
Don't seem to have been enough.
And though I feel a little sad,
and just a tiny bit alone.
I know that you are celebrating,
with the Master on His throne.
What an envy I am feeling,
Whenever I imagine.
The joy of having Christmas,
with Savior in Heaven.
Though I miss our celebration,
at this time of year,
The grief is always softened,
because I know you're there.
I can not wait to carol with you,
One not-far Christmas Day.
When I come to join you,
At His feet to stay.
How joyful it must be,
Face to face to sing to Him.
Who came to give Goodwill,
To earth and peace to men.
I can not wait to join you,
For a family Holiday.
Once again with you to worship,
Some glorious Christmas Day!

The Road
I began a journey long
With my father close at hand.
I was small and weak and young
Much I didn't understand.
But, I trusted my dear father
Who would lead me in the way.
I know he'd never leave me,
he'd be close to me each day.
However, as we traveled,
I saw some peers of mine.
I paused for just a moment
to play with my own kind.
We had such a great adventure
And enjoyed our time of games,
but when I looked for Father,
I felt anger and shame.
I began to search for him,
and he quickly then appeared.
Father, how could you leave me,
Your only child dear.
My father held my hand
To direct me to the path.
As we left my place of pleasure,
I would not turn to look back.
Soon we met a princess
More beautiful than Spring.
When I looked upon her beauty
I loved her more than anything.
I desired nothing more
Than her lovely hand.
But when I asked my father,
he was no where in this land.
I cried out for him
to return to me again.
As quickly as I said the words
He reached out and took my hand.
Again he returned me
to the desired road,
and helped me as we journeyed
to our distant home.
Finally, along the avenue
a glittering I did behold.
I saw rubies, diamonds,
and the purest gold.
How could I pass these riches
And leave them in the way
For all my hearts desires
These would surely pay.
But at that moment I viewed that no one near me was. Though my father's promises He'd left without a cause. But then I heard his voice Speaking Oh so near. Which brought not only joy, but agony and tears. He showed me where his foot fell and there I saw the print. That he'd stayed steady, but I from his side went. So, when he'd felt so far, It had never been the case. For it was I that from his presence raced. I see now when's he's distant, My father's always near, For I'm the one who wanders, From his presence dear. And each time I cry to him, My voice he quickly heeds. He draws me to his presence And fulfills my needs. No greater love hath any, Than that he has for me. Though many should distract He's all that I should see. I shall walk in his presence Till my journey be complete, and there at my destination I shall sit at his feet.

30 Days of Esther: Day 7
Haman, the villain of the book of Esther, has now entered the scene. He's been promoted above all the other princes by the king. All the officers of the king bow and reverence him, but Mordecai will not bow before him.
This was no sign of disrespect. As we look deeper into Mordecai's character we'll see that he is very respectful. He not only respects authority, but shows due respect for all others around him. However, Mordecai was a Jew and he would not bow down before anyone but his Lord.
When looking at this I'm impressed with his resolve not to respect man more than God. He could have faced punishment, in fact his whole peopl faced annihilation, rather than exalt man.
We are living in an age of human worship. We hang on every article that features a celebrity and follow their lives like children with faces pressed against the glass windows of a candy store.
Do we reverence man more than God? Do we allow the opinions of others to dictate how and when we share the truth of God's Word? Mordecai did not fear man, even in the face of extreme persecution, can we be bold in the face of nothing more than mockery?
